Sun City Texas – Georgetown

Sun City Texas by Del Webb is the best-selling active lifestyle community in the Texas Hill Country. Situated 35 miles north of Austin in Georgetown, Sun City Texas contains 9,900 homes and three 18-hole golf courses.

Altogether, this 55+ community offers more than 86,000 square feet of indoor amenities, including a 20,000-square-foot fitness center and a 4,000-square-foot woodshop. At the Veterans Memorial Plaza, an 82-foot limestone wall with 2,700 engraved bricks, residents can pay respects to servicemen from across the country.

Active adult homebuyers will discover a range of new and resale Texas homes for sale within this age-restricted community. Started in 1995, the community contains single-family and attached duplex homes that range in size from 940 to more than 3,000 square feet. Some of the highly upgraded homes include spa-like bathrooms, custom outdoor living space, and gourmet kitchens.

Hill Country Retreat – San Antonio

As one of the best-selling Texas Hill Country communities, Hill Country Retreat offers a wide variety of San Antonio, Texas homes for sale. Here, active adult homebuyers can explore more than 2,000 single-family homes that range from 1,109 to nearly 3,000 square feet. Most homes are single-story ranch homes, although some feature an optional second-floor loft.

Living in Hill Country Retreat gives active adults access to a robust variety of activities and events. This 55+ community employs a full-time activities director who plans events such as potluck dinners, Friday night socials, ski trips, Wednesday night movies, and nature trips.

Residents can also enjoy several resort-style amenities at The Resort, a 28,000-square-foot clubhouse. Outdoor amenities include two tennis and bocce ball courts along with walking and biking trails.

Scenic Hills – Schertz

At Scenic Hills in Schertz, active adults are just 25 miles from San Antonio. This 55+ community, one of the best-selling communities in the Texas Hill Country, offers a robust mix of social and physical activities for residents.

Homeowners can participate in quilting club, ladies’ luncheons, dominoes, golf outings, and cowboy breakfasts. For physical fitness, residents can stay in shape through line dancing, water aerobics, and tennis. Amenities include an outdoor pool and patio, horseshoe pits, two tennis courts, four shuffleboard courts, and walking and biking trails. Scenic Hills also provides R.V. parking.

An established 55+ community, Scenic Hills was developed between 1982 and 1989. Homes range in size from 1,294 to 2,270 square feet with some homes featuring Corian countertops, plantation shutters, and open floor plans. A homeowners’ association fee covers lawn care, guard service, an underground sprinkler system, and common area maintenance.

The Grove at Vintage Oaks – New Braunfels

Located within the master-planned Vintage Oaks community, The Grove at Vintage Oaks will contain 111 single-family homes upon completion. Designed for entertaining and easy living, homes range in size from 2,153 to more than 4,000 square feet. Available features include granite countertops, hardwood floors, and stone fireplaces. Since lots within this gated community are smaller, they require less maintenance.

Residents enjoy access to abundant amenities at The Grove at Vintage Oaks, including 100 acres of greenbelts that link to more than four miles of paths in the Vintage Oaks Hill Country Trail System.
