Average Rating for this Community

My Grandparents moved into Phase 1 of Leisure World (now Laguna Woods Village) 50 years ago when it opened. I have been coming here since I was a child and am now a baby boomer resident. It is a safe, peaceful, and beautiful place to live. It has all the amenities to be as active as you want. Not only are the other residents friendly and helpful, but I find the retail staff in the area go out of their way to be helpful and so friendly to all Village residents - including offering special discounts. It is truly a life in a 5 star resort with the daily carefree happiness of being at Disneyland!

My wife and I were very impressed by the quality of this community, not just the homes but how well it's run. Everything is wonderfully maintained and the team here is just fantastic. Our condo was a steal and we are very confident in its resale value. After having made some poor real estate decisions in the past we feel very confident of our decision to purchase here. We learned a lot of lessons along the way and feel that we were well prepared to make a decision for purchasing a home for our retirement years.

There is always something to do here, tons of activities and amenities to use. My wife and I have very busy schedules and that is exactly what we wanted, to try new things and meet new people. We've made a lot of new friends and enjoy entertaining at our new home. We're looking forward to enjoying many years here!

The location of Laguna Woods is incredible. It sits right next to Laguna Beach which is an incredible vacation town. The access to excellent restaurants cannot be beat. The 3 9hole golf courses are great as well as the par three course.

I just moved to Laguna Woods in February 2015. I am also a Boomer. I absolutely love the community. The real estate agent who assisted me was Wayne Pailma. I could not be more impressed with his knowledge of this community as well as his knowledge as to the nuances of the closing process with Laguna Wood. I highly recommend Wayne Pailma.

I love living here. People are great and the only reason I don’t give it a 5 star rating is because I love playing Pickleball with my friends. There are 8 courts and at night they have 4 lighted ones. Just perfect until a couple of weeks ago they made it so you can’t make reservations..it’s first come first serve. So you get your team on a list and when a court opens up you can play 1 game…go out and sign in again and wait til a court opens up to play another game. Very confusing in my opinion because these games can go quick so it’s constantly stopping and starting on different courts. When we could reserve a court we got 45 minutes or more depending if the next reservation comes after you. I’m so disappointed with this change and wish it could go back to reservations!

Moved here 3 years ago at age 56 so it was difficult moving here at a younger age since most are in their 60s and 70s but a lot of nice people can be found no matter what age 30 - over 100. Yes there are some 30 year olds here for one reason or the other. I am involved in many sports and activities and enjoy the clubhouse shows and planned vacations with other residents through outside agencies. The activities are perfect and remind me being on a cruise where you have a many choices. Homes are old and services are disappointing at times, but some homes built originally in the 1960s have been completely remodeled. Prices for homes are generally a lot cheaper here than outside Laguna Woods. Lots of restaurants nearby and shopping and the quality of life is definitely higher than other parts of Los Angeles/Orange County. Minus one star because services like gardening and maintenance crews have a lot to be desired.
