Many outdoor attractions dot the grounds of Leisure World® Seal Beach, such as six horseshoe pits, shuffleboard buildings, and a lawn bowling green. There is a picnic area as well as gardening plots. Golf enthusiasts benefit from a nine-hole golf course, putting greens, two driving ranges, and a pro shop. Leisure World® Seal Beach also has a 2,500-seat outdoor amphitheater that hosts performances and entertainers.

I don’t see my review that I wrote 6 years ago upon moving my mother in. All of the negative reviews are removed. I am a minority (African American) that moved my mom here. I worked at Boeing down the street and this was close. Leisure World has a good deal of bigots (it’s Orange County) and more good hearted people. One incident was my taking a small group of visitors (all minorities from Boeing (Engineers) to show them the pool area and other amenities. Everyone in the pool (about 25) stopped in their tracks upon us walking into the area. A lady in the pool jumped out of the pool to get her purse from the chair nearby. We just laughed. I could go on and on and on…..The requirements are ridiculous to qualify to move into this community. The majority of units are outdated and isn’t of the status that is required to qualify to move in. The upside is there are activities for the residents, the Directors maintain the Mutuals and there are good points to this Community. It is quiet and safe. The down side is when you move out, they will suck the life out of your wallet. Mom passed and it’s time to move out…..
Best real estate value for downsizers in Southern California, only 1.5 miles from a charming seaside downtown and great amenities and people who serve the community. Mutual 8 is the best!
We have lived here for 8 years, lots to do, golf is our thing, people are friendly and great location 1 1/2 miles to the beach.
Very nice community in a good location. Several clubhouses, a few dates, but the main one recently had a nice update. Homes are being updated and residents are friendly.
