Trilogy® at Rio Vista Overview
Trilogy at Rio Vista by Shea Homes is an active adult community with a nationally recognized 18-hole golf course and two beautiful clubhouses. This gated, 55 and better community has a quiet, rural feel but is quite substantial in size. Since Trilogy at Rio Vista is located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California, it is a perfect place for those who enjoy outdoor activities like sailing, fishing, boating, windsurfing, hiking, and water skiing.
Wide-open scenery, golden rolling hills, and impressive peaks make the perfect backdrop. Residents at Trilogy at Rio Vista enjoy a quaint downtown atmosphere with small shops and restaurants in Rio Vista. Trilogy also has its own restaurant on site that offers American casual cuisine. Major shopping and entertainment facilities are only 30 minutes away.
Construction of the community began in 1996 with the original builder, Braddock and Logan and Blackhawk. It was originally named Summerset at Rio Vista. In 1999, Shea Homes acquired the development and renamed the community Trilogy at Rio Vista.
Update: This community now offers Virtual Livestream Events. These events include cooking classes, wine and spirits demos, fitness and wellness events, and much more. Prospective residents can even tour Trilogy at Rio Vista virtually if they're not able to travel to tour it physically.

Trilogy® at Rio Vista Reviews (10)
An hour from San Francisco.
An hour from Napa, Sonoma, Sacramento and the ocean.
Gated community, with a golf course that we newly own. So never a worry about it closing. Presently being upgraded.
Nice green spaces.
Sacramento River is right on the town, so boating, fishing nearby.
90 clubs with friendly people, many in the active 55-70 age group.
You won’t find a more reasonable place to live and enjoy!
My home is 3 years old and we love it! Never had a problem and Shea was great, and the lifestyle is like a vacation!
I do wish the malls were closer than 17 miles, but I am now used to it.
The drawbacks (if these would bother you), are some windy days, small town, and 20 mile drives to big box stores and shopping centers. We've been here 7 months and really appreciate the opportunity to have a reasonably priced lovely home, more modern than the old 55+ areas, and because of the new building going on by Shea the average age is more like 60 rather than 80. Yes, the golf course could use some sprucing up, but it will be a rarity in new 55+ communities. It's a keeper, and really helps hold home values. So far we feel it's a good value and convenient to two airports, San Francisco, Napa, and travel.
We're in the process now of trying to sell our house...can't wait to leave this place. The town of Rio Vista is actually pretty nice, although decent restaurants are pretty much non-existent. Anyway, think twice before buying here. Caveat emptor!
I spend a lot of time outdoors and have found the golf and tennis facilities to be top notch. I've met a lot of people like me here and have been enjoying finding my way around. It's only been a couple months but I can already tell it's the perfect community for me.
