Woodside is an active lifestyle community located in Aiken, South Carolina. The tree-lined streets in this gated community offer residents a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of activities and amenities to enjoy. The six distinct neighborhoods here are surrounded by a nature preserve with rolling hills and water views. One of only 14 Southern Living Inspired Communities, Woodside embodies the spirit of the South, embraces the land around it, fosters neighborly gatherings, and encourages active living. 

Woodside Amenities

The Reserve Club at Woodside is the social hub inside the community, where residents can gather for meals, clubs, or just to relax while overlooking the golf course. For meals, residents can gather at Dining at The Reserve Club inside or Verandah at The Reserve Club outside. L’Attitudes Bistro offers an intimate, upscale dining option while The Reserve Sports Lounge is where residents can enjoy a drink and watch the game.

Outside, residents will be able to enjoy the resort-style pool, USTA-certified tennis and pickleball facility, and miles of walking trails. There are also memberships available at The Reserve Club for extra benefits and access.

A big part of The Reserve Club's big appeal is golf as the community overlooks multiple award-winning courses. The Reserve Course, designed by Hall of Fame golfer Jack Nicklaus, is noted by Golf Digest as one of the “Top Ten Best New Private Courses in 2003” and is consistently ranked as one of the best golf courses in South Carolina. Also found here is the Hollow Creek Course, which was designed by Masters and U.S. Open champion Fuzzy Zoeller and architect Clyde Johnston. Golfers also enjoy joining a golf league, getting in some swings at the practice facility or the driving range, and perusing the golf shop.

Embracing the surrounding nature is a big part of life at Woodside. Hollow Creek Nature Preserve surrounds the entire community. This 110-acre natural woodland and wetland area is protected and provides a great opportunity for walking, fishing and wildlife observation. Keep an eye out for the bluebird, wood duck, screech owl, and kestrel nest boxes found throughout the community, installed and monitored by the South Carolina Bluebird Society. Aside from the preserve, residents will also be able to enjoy multiple landscaped parks and green spaces found throughout the community as well as a community garden. There are five lakes available for fishing, canoeing, and other water-related activities as well.

Equestrian aficionados will love that the Hollow Creek Equestrian Stables boarding facility, complete with access to riding trails, is located across from Woodsides Hollow Creek Gates.

The Village at Woodside is a neighborhoods just outside the Woodside gates which features several shops and restaurants. Along with a state-of-the-art fitness center, residents will also find a full health and wellness campus complete with offices for physicians and medical professionals. There are also several restaurants and a salon and spa. The Village Pavilion acts as the central gathering space that hosts the Aiken County Fall Farmers Market and special events such as Fourth Friday. 

Woodside Homes & Real Estate

Woodside Development began construction on Woodside in 1986 and plans to build 2,500 single-family homes in total. Buyers have six neighborhoods to choose from, each with their own distinct set of floor plans and home features. In total, buyers can select from four home model collections with a total of 15 floor plans.

The Pine Glen Collection features three models that can include either one level or two levels depending on the homebuyer's needs. These homes range from 1,766 to 2,797 square feet with two or three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Design features include cedar and brick accents, spacious lanais, and master suites with walk-in closets.

The four homes in The Meadows Collection range from 1,958 to 2,216 square feet and include two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. The homes in this neighborhood surround Meadows Park, which features a lighted walking path, rustic picnic pavilion, and brick fire pit with seating. These homes also include front porch space and a covered lanai out back.

The Courtyard Collection includes five one-level models that range from 1,988 to 2,910 square feet with two to four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Desirable features in these homes include large covered porches. private studies, and breakfast rooms. Exterior accents are available in natural stone, brick, or stucco.

With the largest available models, the Highlands Collection includes three home models that range from 2,703 to 3,198 square feet with three or four bedrooms, three or three-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Each model features an optional second level for added loft space and living area. Additional features include ten-foot ceilings and open living areas.

Woodside Lifestyle

Homeowners in Woodside take advantage of their extra free time by enjoying one of the many social clubs and activity groups that gather here. The Reserve Club is currently home to more than 60 of these groups as well as an active event calendar that always seems to have something planned. Residents who love the outdoors can join the Woodside Trail Group or hunting club while those looking to enjoy the finer things can join the wine club or attend a chef's table event. 

Membership at Thre Reserve Club also brings with it special perks and benefits. They offer four tiers of membership depending on your interest, they include golf, activities, tennis, and social. All memberships are family memberships for those who live in the community. 

Surrounding Area

Woodside is located in Aiken, South Carolina, which Southern Living Magazine named as the “Best Small Town” for 2018. Residents here are never far from their daily needs as well as exciting activities, entertainment, shopping, and other services outside the community. 

Downtown Aiken is a cultural hub full of tree-lined streets and wooden bridges. Residents should keep an eye on the AECOM Center for the Performing Arts, Aiken Center for the Arts, Aiken Community Playhouse, the Etherredge Center for upcoming performances and shows. They should also mark their calendars for yearly can't-miss events such as the Aiken’s Makin Craft and Art Festival and the Southern City Film Festival. The city also boasts an eclectic mix of fine dining, boutique shops, and national chain restaurants and retailers. For the authentic local foodie experience, residents will want to make sure they consider Prime Steakhouse, Malia’s, Casa Bella, Aiken Brewing Co. and Grille, and Betsy’s on the Corner.

Residents looking to enjoy the great outdoors have so many options to choose from. They can walk the trails around Carolina Bay, enjoy the views at Hopelands Gardens, take a walk in Hitchcock Woods, or watch the birds at Silver Bluff Audobon Center. This is a thoroughbred destination as well and Aiken has a proud equestrian tradition. There is always something going on, including steeplechase events, horse shows, and polo matches.

Along with all of the health care offices and options found in The Village at Woodside, residents are also very close to Aiken Regional Hospital, University Healthcare System, Georgia Regents University Medical Center, Doctors Hospital, Trinity, Charlie Norwood VA Hospital, and Fort Gordon’s Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters Tournament, is just 30 minutes away by car while a trip to Columbia, South Carolina will only take an hour. For longer trips, Augusta Regional Airport and Columbia Metropolitan Airport provide plenty of options.
