Cromwell Diner, is a local favorite for classic American fare, while Wooster St. Pizza is beloved for Italian standards set in whimsical car-centric decor. For fine dining, Cava showcases elegant old-world dishes in a European environment and is just under 6 miles from the community.

Exploring the area is easy to do with places like Cromwell Riverside Park, located just down the road, with boating, a local vegetable market, and craft fairs. Nearly a dozen historical sites and museums are within a ten-mile range for cultural enthusiasts, like New Britain Museum of American Art and the carefully restored Buttolph-Williams House, which showcases impressive collections of late seventeenth-century American decorative arts. 

Golfers are minutes from two acclaimed courses in the area. Portland Golf Course offers tree-lined fairways and various elevation changes and is challenging for players of all levels. Evergreen is also close to several health care providers, including Middlesex Health Primary Care which is just over one mile away, Kensington Primary Care is just over 6 miles, and the area’s main hospital, Hospital for Special Care, is just over ten miles away.

With easy access to Route 9 and Interstate 91 Cromwell is a two-hour drive to New York City, two hours to Boston, and two hours to Vermont/New Hampshire, with the nearest urban hub of Hartford only a 20-minute drive from the community. For travel, the Bradley International Airport is just over 29 miles away and a 35-minute drive.
