From casual to high end, Scottsdale’s many housing developments are suitable for a wide range of lifestyles. We’re exploring some of the best active adult communities that Scottsdale has to offer.


Low $400s - Low $1Ms

Terravita offers an exceptional lifestyle for active adults. While it has no age restrictions, it’s become a popular option for homeowners in their retirement years who are seeking a vibrant community with a social lifestyle. This gated community consists of 1,380 single family homes that have two to four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and two- to three-car garages.

With two clubhouses, Terravita has an outstanding selection of amenities. The main social and activity center is the 34,000 square-foot Terravita Country Club. Here, residents can dine at five different restaurants and eateries, exercise at the fitness center, or play a game of tennis with neighbors. There is also a resort-style swimming pool and spacious outdoor patio. With an additional membership, residents can enjoy access to the on-site 18-hole golf course.

Heritage Village IV provides an amenity-rich lifestyle for active adults. This 55+ community is part of the larger master-planned community of Scottsdale Ranch, and it has 162 attached homes. These single-story residences are perfect for homeowners who prefer low-maintenance living.

Residents of Heritage Village IV are served by their very own clubhouse that is separate from the surrounding community. It features a heated outdoor pool and three tennis courts. There are also trails for walking and biking.

Being part of a master-planned community means residents can access additional recreation centers found in Scottsdale Ranch. The Scottsdale Ranch Park & Tennis Center is where residents can challenge their neighbors to a friendly game of tennis, basketball, volleyball, racquetball, and squash. Scottsdale Ranch also has an on-site lake for fishing, boating, and kayaking.

Winfield is known for its luxurious environment, but this non-age restricted community has a selection of homes fit for many budgets.
