Residents of Mesa also enjoy proximity to top hospitals and first-class health care. Here are five age-restricted communities in this popular retirement destination.

Leisure World

Mid $200ks – High $700ks

Leisure World’s plentiful amenities and small-town atmosphere make it a top choice in Mesa. This active adult community is restricted to those aged 45+, and it consists of 2,664 residences. These residences include condos, single-family homes, and attached homes. With homes that range from 630 to 3,400 square feet, a wide range of living preferences can be accommodated. Current homes for sale range from the low $200s to the high $700s.

Leisure World’s amenities allow residents to live well-rounded lifestyles. There’s a large clubhouse, a fitness center, a library, several swimming pools, and two 18-hole golf courses. Those who prefer the outdoors can explore the community with walking and biking trails. The community is also home to man-made lakes, a post office, and a wellness center that provides excellent medical care.

Greenfield Glen

Low $300ks – Mid $300ks

Greenfield Glen is an excellent choice for active adults seeking a safe, affordable community. With 208 attached homes, Greenfield Glen maintains a tight-knit environment where residents feel welcome. These residences range from approximately 1,104 to 1,255 square feet.

A lively clubhouse serves as the social and activity center of Greenfield Glen. Residents can stay active in the exercise room, enjoy a game of billiards or cards with neighbors, or pursue their interests in the arts and crafts studio. Outdoors, there’s a tennis court, shuffleboard courts, and a pool and spa.

Dreamland Villa

High $200ks – Low $500ks

Dreamland Villa combines affordable prices with plentiful amenities. This 55+ community has 2,732 single-family homes that were designed with low-maintenance living in mind. There are many floor plans to choose from, with sizes ranging from 942 to about 1,900 square feet.

Residents of Dreamland Villa are served by two clubhouses: Read Hall and Farnsworth Hall. At Read Hall, residents enjoy access to a restaurant, two outdoor pools, multiple hobby studios, a library, and more. There are also pickleball courts, shuffleboard courts, an exercise room, and table tennis. Farnsworth Hall is home to a community theater, an outdoor amphitheater, a swimming pool, and additional outdoor amenities. There’s also a golf club with a 9-hole course, putting greens, and a cafe for winding down after a game. 

Fountain of the Sun

Low $200ks – High $500ks

Fountain of the Sun offers a great selection of affordably priced homes and a vibrant lifestyle. This gated 55+ community is home to 2,296 residences, including manufactured homes, single-family homes, and attached homes. Homes range from below 1,000 square feet up to 2,100 square feet.

Residents at Fountain of the Sun always have a way to stay social and active. The well-appointed clubhouse features a ballroom, a fitness center, an arts and crafts studio, a billiards room, and more. Outdoors, the amenities continue with a pool and spa, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, and scenic lakes and ponds scattered throughout the community. An on-site post office makes it easy to take care of daily errands. Golfers will enjoy the community’s private country club, which has an 18-hole golf course, a pro shop, meeting rooms, and a restaurant and bar.

Sunland Springs Village

Mid $300ks – Mid $700ks

Sunland Springs Village caters to the needs of modern active adults. This 55+ community features 2,890 residences, including single-family homes and attached homes. These homes range from about 1,000 to 2,300 square feet.

The community’s recreation center ensures residents live a full lifestyle. There’s a 13,000-square-foot auditorium, a ballroom, a woodworking shop, and more. Outdoor amenities include two swimming pools and facilities for tennis, pickleball, bocce, basketball, and volleyball. With a 27-hole golf course, residents can play a friendly game of golf with neighbors and enjoy the outdoors.
