Get ready for some serious pickleball.

The Minto US Open Pickleball Championships is opening its website for registration on January 9-10, 2019, and you need to act fast.

In the past, spots for pickleball tournaments have been hard to come by due to the incredible response organizers have had to their events. Veteran participants have talked about their tendency to sit anxiously at their computers and hover over their phone screens – waiting for the moment that they can claim their spots.

This is the US Open, so you should expect nothing different. Spots for both singles and doubles will go quickly to active adults looking to make a mark for themselves in one of the most popular recreational sports sweeping the nation. Forget shuffleboard and bocce. It’s all pickleball, and the best players around will gather in Naples, Florida for the annual tournament next spring.

Even better, this year’s event is sponsored by our Most Popular Community of 2018, Latitude Margaritaville in Dayton Beach, FL.

When to Register for the Tournament

You can access online registration beginning on January 9, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. EST. You’ll need to register according to your skill level, so make sure you know in which class you want to participate.

  • On January 9, 2019, at 5:00 p.m., players for skill levels 2.5 and 3.0 should register.
  • On January 9, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., players for skill level 3.5 should register.
  • On January 10, 2019, at 5:00 p.m., players for skill level 4.0 should register.
  • On January 10, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., players for skill levels 4.5, 5.0, and “Pros” should register.

If you’re planning to register for both singles and doubles, register during the time associated with your doubles skill rating.

Registration ends on March 9, 2019, but we don’t recommend you wait that long. Snag your spot, and figure out the rest later.

How to Register for the Tournament

The website you’ll use to register is PickleballTournaments.com. If you’ve never used this site to register for a pickleball tournament, set up a player’s account now so you can register easily on January 9 or 10. Once you sign in, you’ll be directed to the registration form.

The fee to register will depend on your age, skill level, and credentials. Juniors 18 years of age and under start at $25 and Adults 19 years of age and older start at $80. Professionals will pay a $125 registration fee. You’ll need to be prepared to pay at the time of registration.

What to Expect from the US Open Pickleball Championships

The event, hosted by Minto Communities, will be held from April 27, 2019 – May 4, 2019, at East Naples Community Park in Naples, Florida. It’s home to 54 pickleball courts and surrounded by plenty of hotels, restaurants, and additional recreation opportunities.

The US Open Pickleball Championships site will continually update participants and spectators about lodging, travel, and schedules. You’ll be able to purchase snacks, meals, drinks, and souvenirs throughout the tournament, and registered participants will get an event t-shirt.
