Sun City Grand is a popular Del Webb Arizona 55+ community, smaller in scale yet still big on amenities.

With less than 10,000 homes, Sun City Grand is smaller than Phoenix, Arizona’s other Sun City communities. However, its impressive grounds still feature an exciting array of amenities, including three clubhouses, three 18-hole golf courses, swimming pools, sports courts, hobby and game rooms, restaurants and a Lifelong Learning Center.

Sun City Grand was the third Del Webb active adult community to be built in the Phoenix area. It was constructed between 1996 and 2004, just 25 miles northwest of Phoenix in Surprise, Arizona. This suburban setting offers a quiet place to enjoy a beautiful, resort-style retirement. Today, the community boasts 9,802 homes, including condos, attached villas and single-family homes. Amenities at Sun City Grand were designed to support an active adult lifestyle for residents with a wide range of interests.

As the community’s main clubhouse, the Village Center welcomes residents with a lush courtyard and cascading waterfalls. The beautiful grounds also feature many outdoor recreations throughout the community, including swimming pools and sports courts for tennis, pickleball and bocce ball. Resident golfers will also love playing the three 18-hole championship courses, designed by PGA Hall-of-Famer Billy Casper and golf architect Greg Nash.

The full-service Cimarron Day Spa offers massages, facials and body treatments, while the Sonoran Plaza Social Hall features a 9,000 square-foot grand ballroom and a variety of multipurpose hobby and game rooms.

When it comes to exploring new interests, Sun City Grand’s Lifelong Learning Center offers an ideal place to attend classes, listen to lectures or take part in discussion groups. Those who want to express their creativity may also enjoy arts and crafts classes, group meetings and other events at the Village Artisan Studios. Homes within Sun City Grand were specifically designed with active adults in mind. There are a variety of home styles available, with floor plans ranging in size from 805 to nearly 3,000 square feet. Condos, attached villas and single-family designs are all available on a resale basis.

Most homes were built with upgraded features and modern floor plans, adding to their design appeal. Although Sun City Grand is smaller than Del Webb’s nearby Sun City and Sun City West communities, this upscale development is an ideal retirement destination for those who want active adult living in a tranquil, suburban setting.
