Southwest Florida will be Pulte Homes' testing ground for their new single-family home designs which they plan to eventually launch nationwide. The developer will introduce more than 10 new models for active adult communities and a neighborhood in Fort Myers will be the first to see them.
The Plantation, a collection of 1,100 single-family and attached homes priced from the low $200s to the mid $700s, is the first community to begin selling the yet-unnamed models. Three models are now offered at The Plantation and 11 to 13 are planned.
Pulte Uses Input From Potential Buyers
The company has a unique way of deciding how to design their homes. Groups of people are asked to tour their model homes while taking notes and sharing their opinions on the homes. Pulte uses that input to develop their new home models.
You can see the results of those surveys and interviews come to life in these new models. The consumer test groups told the builder that they wanted open concept floor plans inside and more living space outside. Higher dishwashers that are easier to maneuver have been installed in new homes as well.
New Pulte Single-Family Design Features
Potential buyers are invited to design their own dream home. They can access an online program that provides all the rooms in a potential home. Future residents can move things around and take advantage of the innovative and interactive floor plans to move and reconfigure different spaces to better meet their needs.
New Features in New Models
Potential homebuyers can expect several updates and improvements from the new models that are featured at The Plantation and Bridgetown.
For example, all guest bedrooms have been redesigned as guest suites. Some models have larger kitchens, with islands in the middle for prep work and additional storage. A wine refrigerator can be found in the newly installed butler’s pantry. Master bedrooms have walk-in closets and easy access to the laundry room. Fireplace walls, crown molding, and outdoor entertaining space are all new features that can be customized for any of these homes.
Owner’s retreat rooms are replacing sunrooms and many of them are located in place of a sitting room, right off the master bedroom. There is also extra space that is flexible enough to be used as a bedroom, a den, a home office, or even a golf cart garage.
Two of these new models have already sold in Fort Myers and the prices for new homes will remain in the $200s to $700s range.
While these new models are currently unnamed, the company is working on names that are both classic and representative of the lifestyle these homes provide.
