Set in popular Bonita Springs, Florida, Shadow Wood is a beautiful, open-age community which offers members a variety of social activities and country club amenities including three 18-hole golf courses. The fabulous location is close to retail centers, restaurants and sunny Gulf Coast beaches as well.

Opened in 1998, by Bonita Bay Group, Shadow Wood features 1,481 homes including both single-family designs and attached coach homes in a variety of sizes. These homes are now available on a resale bases, as the community was completed in 2006. Single-level coach homes are thoughtfully designed for low-maintenance living. They are located in two-story buildings, with two to four units per building, and each has its own attached garage.

Those who prefer single-family homes can find styles that range from comfortable villas to luxurious estates. Golf course or forest preserve views provide scenic backdrops, while some neighborhoods feature private swimming pools. Shadow Wood residents also have the option of joining two available clubs: the Shadow Wood Country Club or The Commons Club. Membership options let residents choose the amenities that best suit their interests.

At The Commons Club, members will find a state-of-the-art fitness center with an aerobics and dance studio, multipurpose rooms and Rosie Spoonbill’s restaurant. Membership also includes social activities, private beach access and outdoor recreations such as a swimming pool, a half basketball court and a picnic area.

The Shadow Wood Country Club is geared more toward golfers, as it offers three championship 18-hole golf courses and golf practice facilities. However, additional amenities and tiered memberships welcome non-golfers as well. Amenities include a fitness center, hobby and game rooms, an on-site restaurant, nine Har-Tru tennis courts, a picnic area and a ballroom for community events.

Basic access to the Shadow Wood Country Club begins with a Clubhouse Membership, which offers unlimited social and dining privileges. The Sports Membership extends access to unlimited use of the clubhouse, full use of the tennis courts and limited use of the golf facilities. Those who want additional golf access can also choose from an Executive Membership or Full Golf Membership.

Beyond the amenities, both the Shadow Woods Country Club and The Commons Club each have their own social calendar full of exciting activities. Over 40 clubs cover a wide range of interests, while community events and holiday parties are popular with many members.

Although Shadow Wood is open to residents of all ages, its varied amenities, appealing social activities and diverse home styles come together to create a fabulous Florida destination for active adult retirees.
