William Lyon Homes recently broke ground on a new active adult community within the master-planned community of Meridian in Queen Creek, Arizona. Ovation at Meridian will include three distinct neighborhoods with 780 single-family homes once complete. Homeowners will have access to all of the amenities at Meridian as well as a recreation center built specifically for the 55+ community.


Homebuyers interested in Ovation at Meridian can choose from eleven unique floor plans that offer 1,462 to 2,499 square feet of living space and two to four bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half bathrooms, a den, and a two or three-car garage, all on a single story. Homes will utilize plenty of natural light and include modern features like smart home technology. Model homes are expected to be ready by late 2018.


The recreation center will span 7.5 acres and offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. A 13,500 square-foot clubhouse is planned to include a banquet hall, craft room, and an exercise room with a yoga studio. Outside, a patio will overlook a swimming pool and spa.

Courts for tennis, pickleball, and bocce will be nearby. A fire pit will be available for intimate gatherings while an event lawn will host larger functions. As with the rest of Meridian, this active adult community will include miles of trails and numerous parks, including a dog park.


The larger community of Meridian includes 229 acres of outdoor spaces designed with landscaped trails and recreational facilities. Residents can walk or bike through these beautiful outdoor spaces, and an equestrian arena is even available with trails for horseback riding.

For a little relaxation after an active day, a ramada hosts movie nights in the park Queen Creek, AZ is a growing city in the Phoenix area with a lot of history. Horseback riding is popular in Queen Creek and many equestrian amenities can be found in the area.

Residents of Meridian are in a great spot to enjoy some of the state’s finest nature preserves. Saguaro National Park, with the largest cacti in the country, is only a two-hour drive away, as is Coronado National Forest, with the beautiful Mount Lemmon.

Active adults who love the outdoors should definitely keep an eye on Ovation at Meridian.
