The Wilmington area in Northern Delaware is a great place for active adults to live. Construction on the new 55+ community started in 2017 and will include 178 homes, ranging from two- to four bedrooms in a variety of styles. Starting in the mid $200s, these homes include garages, luxury options, and maintenance-free living. Milltown Village

Low $400s - High $400s

Milltown Village is a small 55+ community of just 115 homes in Wilmington, the largest city in the state. The community offers detached and single-family homes that range from two- to three bedrooms in the $400s. Even in this small neighborhood, there is a clubhouse with catering kitchen and fitness room, with plenty of places to socialize with other residents.

But the location also makes it easy to get out and explore the region. Located in the scenic Brandywine Valley on the border to Pennsylvania, the Courtyards at Brandywine is a small community that feels rural, but close to the city. Residents have easy access to the Brandywine Wine Trail, the historic home and museum at Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, and the Hagley Museum.
