Allentown is one of the Pennsylvania Lehigh Valley’s big three cities—the other two are Easton and Bethlehem. This idyllic region of Pennsylvania does everything right: it has a storied history, rolling hills, expansive countrysides, outstanding recreational venues, urban amenities, and charming local flavor. And since these cities are not major metropolitan areas, housing costs are more budget-friendly. There are over 20 active adult communities in the Allentown area, and those with attached homes can be even more affordable.
Read on to learn about some of our favorites.

Quakertown’s Nockamixon State Park offers almost 5,300 pristine acres of natural beauty perfect for biking, fishing, swimming, golfing, and camping.
