New Jersey is known for many different things but one of the most sought-after ones for active adults is its endless miles of beaches. The town of Lakewood, located on the northern tip of Ocean County, is 10 minutes from Point Pleasant and Lavalette and is an excellent option for baby boomers seeking affordable homes.
There are numerous reasons why 55+ homebuyers are drawn to Lakewood. This desirable zip code has three parks running through it, Lake Shenandoah County Park, Ocean County Park, and Pine Park. The Eagle Ridge Golf Club is on its southwest border and the Lakewood Blue Claws play minor league baseball here. Travelers also enjoy the convenience of being 90 minutes or less from the major airports in Newark, New York, and Philadelphia, plus the nearby Garden State Parkway and Route 195.
