Tavistock at Mays Landing - Mays Landing

Mid $100s - Low $200s

Mays Landing is a favorite option for active adults that want to be near Atlantic City and other Jersey shore towns. Tavistock at Mays Landing in Atlantic County offers new construction and an exceptional attached home model. This smaller-sized neighborhood has 208 attached and single-family resale homes, built from 2004 to 2017 by D'Anastasio Corporation.

The townhome model is 1,300 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a one-car garage. Some may include a Florida room (sunroom), lofts, and second-floor bedrooms. There are irrigation systems throughout the community, and all of the homes are Energy Star Home designated.

The private clubhouse has an exercise room, game room, and a great room with a dance floor. Tavistock at Mays Landing is about 30 minutes from Atlantic City, about 10 minutes from Hamilton Mall, and five or so minutes from a Walmart Supercenter. The closest hospitals are AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and Shore Medical Center.

Sonata Bay - Berkeley Township

Residents enjoy spending time at the community clubhouse, which has an exercise room, activity rooms, a library, an outdoor pool and patio, plus tennis, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts.

In addition to being close to public beaches like Ortley Beach and Seaside, Sonata Bay is proximal to Riverbank Marina, Double Trouble State Park, and a wealth of shopping and dining opportunities.

The Ponds - Monroe

Mid $200s - Mid $300s

The Ponds is an active adult community that offers homebuyers a scenic setting at a 19-acre nature preserve. Built from 1994 to 1999 by Pulte Homes, it has 575 attached and single-family homes.

The attached homes are offered in five floor plans that range from 1,237 up to 1,800 square feet. They have one to two bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half baths, and an attached one or two-car garage. Some of these have large master suites and patios.

The Ponds’ exclusive clubhouse has its own indoor pool, exercise room and dance studio, activity rooms, and a ballroom. Outside, residents enjoy an outdoor pool, a 9-hole putting green, walking and biking trails, tennis, and walking and biking throughout the nature preserve. There are also dozens of clubs and activities, like aquacize, bridge games, bowling nights, golf clubs, painting classes, and poker. 

Horizons at Delaware Crossing - Lopatcong

Horizons at Delaware Crossing is an active adult neighborhood that will have a total of 158 attached new and resale attached homes upon completion. There are eight floor plans sized from 1,738 to 3,030 square feet. They have one or two bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Features include granite counters, upgraded appliances, hardwood floors, patios, and great rooms.

The property has an exclusive clubhouse which is the perfect backdrop for bingo, Sunday brunches, bunco, and holiday parties. It also has an indoor spa and steam room, an exercise room, activity rooms, an outdoor pool, tennis, horseshoes, and trails. Lopatcong is just 10 minutes from the Delaware River and Pennsylvania, so Horizons residents can cross the state line anytime to visit attractions on the other side of the river, like Delaware Canal State Park.

Hunterdon Creekside - Raritan

One of the newest active adult communities in Somerset County is Hunterdon Creekside, a gated development being completed by Pulte Homes. When finished, it will have 109 attached and 137 single-family homes.

There are four attached home models sized from 1,370 to 1,510 square feet. They have from two to five bedrooms, two to four-and-a-half bathrooms, plus one to two car garages. Homebuyers can choose between a loft space or basement, while homes also include gourmet kitchens and master suites.

A 4,900 square-foot clubhouse is in the works, and it will include a modern fitness center, activity rooms, and an outdoor pool, a playground, tennis, and pickleball courts. Raritan is ideally situated in the middle of Somerset County, nestled in between Raritan Valley Country Club and Duke Farms, a historic estate on a 1,000-acre park established by the Duke family. New York City is about 90 minutes away, and the surrounding area has plenty of shopping, dining, medical centers, and entertainment options.
