In the wake of the Supreme Court ruling allowing sports gambling to be legalized, many states are starting the process of approving it. The state at the center of the Supreme Court ruling was New Jersey, which recently made sports gambling legal in specific locations.
Already a haven for gambling, the state is home to several casinos and racing tracks. The initial plan for legalizing sports betting in New Jersey is to allow betting to be done at places already home to gambling, like Atlantic City casinos, Monmouth Park Racetrack, or online.
With New Jersey already a popular state for active adults it’s possible others will consider calling the state home in order to enjoy a new freedom. Many states will look to New Jersey over the next few months to see the impact of legal sports betting, that means some may even take years to legalize sports betting. If you’re not interested in waiting to place a bet, here are some of the best communities near venues allowing sports gambling in New Jersey.
There are eleven active adult communities in Atlantic County, and while none of them are in Atlantic City, they’re all a short drive to several casinos. It wasn’t until 2016 that the state allowed casinos to move beyond Atlantic City, so the county is still the premier spot for gambling. As sports betting is slowly opened to the public Atlantic City is expected to see a big boost in visitors and could become the sports betting mecca of the East Coast.
