Active adults in Northern New Mexico can look forward to checking out the first Del Webb 55+ community in the Albuquerque area: Del Webb at Mirehaven. This beautiful community will offer sweeping mountain views, low-maintenance single-family homes and a recreation center with an appealing line-up of indoor and outdoor amenities.
Opening in 2014, Del Webb Mirehaven is designed to stretch across 300 acres within the larger Mirehaven master-planned community. Currently, Del Webb has plans to offer approximately 538 single-family homes, specifically designed for active adults aged 55 or better. Construction has not yet begun, but interested homebuyers will soon be able to browse the available home designs and purchase homes on a new-construction basis.
While floor plans are still in development, Del Webb Mirehaven is expected to feature single-family homes that are optimized for low-maintenance living. Homes are likely to range from 1,500 to 2,500 square feet and include the thoughtful design touches that active adult homebuyers have come to expect from Del Webb. This includes features such as separate dining rooms and dens, outdoor living areas and garages with ample storage space.
Beyond its appealing homes, Del Webb Mirehaven is expected to include its own clubhouse for the exclusive use of community residents. This recreation center will include a variety of amenities to support an active lifestyle. These are likely to include indoor areas for socializing or enjoying shared hobbies and activities. There are also plans for an outdoor swimming pool and patio, pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, walking and biking trails, and a social lawn.
As in other Del Webb active adult communities, future residents will be able to take part in many different classes, clubs and special events. Part of the fun of being the first residents in a new community is helping to develop its first social clubs and special-interest groups. Those who get in early can help shape Del Webb at Mirehaven's social and recreational calendar from day one.
Beyond its own grounds, Del Webb at Mirehaven has a prime Albuquerque location, adjacent to the 7,200-acre Petroglyph National Monument. Residents will be able to walk along scenic trails that lead to this popular attraction or enjoy the planned parks that will be included in both Del Webb at Mirehaven and in the larger Mirehaven community.
The community will also be located next to the new West Side Stadium. This facility is primarily used for the high schools in the Albuquerque Public Schools district, but may also host some seasonal day or evening events as well. The complex includes a 7,000-seat football stadium and a track, while there are future plans for baseball fields, softball fields and tennis courts.
