Lakewood Ranch, a master-planned development in Manatee County, Florida, will expand its horizons with a new active adult community called Cresswind Lakewood Ranch.

Manatee County commissioners approved the preliminary site plan of the new active adult community in Lakewood Ranch. The new community plans to build a total of 651 single-family homes spread across 250 acres. The new, gated 55+ community will be located south of State Road 64 and east of Lorraine Road. Currently, much of the land around the proposed Cresswind property is agricultural, which will require construction of roadways, potable water, and wastewater infrastructures. Builder Kolter Homes also plans to build a 5.2-acre recreational center for residents of the active adult community.

Proposed amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. The Lakewood Ranch master-planned community contains more than 17,000 acres of land and could contain up to 32,000 homes once complete. The development is home to numerous age-restricted and active lifestyle communities that cater to the 55+ crowd.
